A Woman Too Far Away

Standing by the water,
Touching the breaking waves:
She’s a lady of the sea,
But will she sing for me?
Walking around the bend,
Touching her wind-swept hair:
She’s a lady of seaborne air,
But will she ask me over there?
Plucking flowers by the green,
Touching the fallen petals:
She’s a lady of the earth
And I’ll never speak with her.
